On October 7th, I dined at Hama Sushi (はま寿司).
The salmon was quite fresh, although it didn’t compare to the likes of Sushi Katsumidori (寿司活美登利) or Nemuro Hanamaru (根室花まる). Both the flame-seared salmon and flame-seared cheese salmon were particularly good.
The dish of clams steamed in saké was an unexpected choice but it was delightful, despite the fact that not all of the sand inside the clams had been purged.
I also tried the octopus balls, which were decent.
The flame-seared tuna with a special sauce was quite good. Being a seafood-rich country, Japan certainly has delicious tuna, but often, it seems places opt for a lower-quality tuna to save on costs, which usually has a less appealing taste. However, this dish was a pleasant exception.
Other fish like mackerel were also tasty. It would have been an even more enjoyable experience with some saké.
Upon settling the bill, I found the value for money was pretty good compared to other places.
